Ave T-Shirt

The inspiration behind the image on this oversized white cotton T-shirt is the fire hydrant which has become a symbol of New York summers since the early 1920’s. New Yorkers throughout the boroughs whether young, old or in between have used the fire hydrant as a way to cool off from the extreme New York summer heat.

Becoming a symbol not only of fond childhood memories but also as a symbol of joy and unity within communities. The image is a memory of the designer’s childhood summers with family and friends.
